Can NRIs buy property in India?
Yes. NRIs and PIOs can purchase residential and commercial property in India without RBI approval under FEMA. Agricultural land, farmhouses and plantations are the only exceptions.
Which account — NRE or NRO?
Use NRE accounts for full repatriation of principal + returns. NRO is for India-earned funds. Most NRI investments go through NRE for full flexibility.
Can I repatriate my returns?
Yes — up to 2 residential properties per financial year with full capital + gains repatriation from NRE accounts, subject to applicable TDS.
Do I need to visit India to buy?
No. The entire process can be completed remotely through a registered Power of Attorney, digital documentation and our on-ground team.
Is RERA applicable to NRIs?
Yes. RERA protects all buyers including NRIs — ensuring construction timelines, fund accountability and dispute resolution.
